Peter A. Caravella, M.D., is a cardiac surgeon at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. He is a member of Napa Valley Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery practice.

After completing his medical training at the University of Maryland, School of Medicine, Dr. Caravella completed his general surgery training at the University of California, Los Angeles and the University of Missouri, St. Louis University Hospital. He completed fellowships in thoracic and cardiovascular surgery at the Medical College of Georgia and Loyola University Medical Center.

Board certified by the American Board of Surgery, and board eligible in Thoracic Surgery, Dr. Caravella has also worked in the Department of General Surgery at University Medical Center in Las Vegas and as an anatomy instructor at St. Louis University, School of Medicine.

He also served as a research assistant at the University of Maryland, School of Medicine. His areas of interest include minimally invasive surgery, with special expertise and interest in endovascular surgery and stent grafting.
