Dr. Robert Klingman, Jr., M.D., is Director of Cardiac Surgery at Queen of the Valley Hospital in Napa, Chief of Surgery at Holderman Hospital in Yountville, California, and Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Vallejo. He is a member of the Napa Valley Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery practice.
Dr. Klingman received his medical degree from the Creighton University School of Medicine, and then completed a general surgery residency, where he was also named Chief Resident. He was General Surgery Registrar at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary in Lancaster, England and completed a cardiothoracic surgery residency and a cardiothoracic research fellowship at Albany Medical Center. He also completed a cardiothoracic research fellowship at Creighton University, where he was also an instructor in surgery.
He is guest editor at The Annuals of Thoracic Surgery and has received scholarship awards and grants for his medical research into lung transplants.
Board certified by the American Board of Surgery, the American Board of Thoracic Surgery, and the American Board of Surgical Critical Care, Dr. Klingman has published and presented extensively on cardiac and thoracic surgery procedures.
His professional affiliations include the American College of Surgeons, The Western Thoracic Surgical Association, The Society of Thoracic Surgeons, the American College of Chest Physicians, and the American College of Cardiology.
